Position:                Programs and Services Officer

Held Position:       January 2005 till January 2007

Purpose of the Position:
To coordinate and implement weightlifting participation programs in designated regions throughout Queensland. The position will be outcome focused as
reflected in the QWA’s strategic plan.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement and monitor project plans in relation to the QWA’s Schools Participation programs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the QWA’s Coaching and Officiating education and development programs.
  • Develop a squad structure and squad program for Male QWA athletes.
  • Consult with the General Manager in project planning and implementation phases to ensure continuity of tasks/activities across program areas.
  • Liaise with and link stakeholders – QWA; affiliated clubs; schools.
  • Develop new initiatives and promote programs as required.

Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead and coordinate projects including the ability to develop project plans and report outcomes.
  • Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively manage children undertaking physical activity in
    a controlled group environment.
  • Proven ability to work as a team member.
  • Relevant tertiary or equivalent, and NCAS and NOAS qualifications plus a minimum of two years of industry experience.

Key Performance Indicators
  • QWA services regarded by stakeholders as well organised, efficient, professional and customer focused.
  • Project plans developed, maintained and reports generated as requested.
  • Increased weightlifting activity in Queensland schools and clubs.
  • Increased level of recruitment of school age participants into weightlifting clubs.
  • Client surveys/feedback utilised in program analysis and improvement.

Other information / Conditions
The QWA Coordinator – Programs & Services must possess or be able to obtain a Positive Notice for Child Related Employment issued by the
Queensland Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian.

As a member of the QWA staff, you will on occasions be required to attend functions as a representative of the QWA. Your conduct and appearance
should reflect the role of ambassador and your activities set an example to other employees.

It will be a condition that the QWA will be entitled to be fully informed of the results of all work done by you and to have full and exclusive benefits of its
results. It will be a condition that you will not without authority, divulge to any other person any information in regard to the affairs of the QWA.
